tato ratha-dvipa-bhaṭa-sādi-nāyakaiḥ

karālayā parivṛta ātma-senayā

mṛdańga-bhery-ānaka-śańkha-gomukhaiḥ

praghoṣa-ghoṣita-kakubho nirakramat

tatah -- then; ratha -- of His chariots; dvipa -- elephants; bhata -- infantry; sadi -- and cavalry; nayakaih -- with leaders; karalaya -- fearsome; parivritah -- surrounded; atma -- personal; senaya -- by His army; mridanga -- by mridanga drums; bheri -- bheri horns; anaka -- kettledrums; sankha -- conchshells; go-mukhaih -- and go-mukha horns; praghosha -- by the resounding; ghoshita -- filled with vibrations; kakubhah -- all directions; nirakramat -- He went out.

As the vibrations resounding from mridangas, bheris, kettledrums, conchshells and gomukhas filled the sky in all directions, Lord Krishna set out on His journey. He was accompanied by the chief officers of His corps of chariots, elephants, infantry and cavalry and surrounded on all sides by His fierce personal guard.
