vaidarbhyāḥ sa tu sandeśaḿ

niśamya yadu-nandanaḥ

pragṛhya pāṇinā pāṇiḿ

prahasann idam abravīt

sri-sukah uvaca -- Sukadeva Gosvami said; vaidarbhyah -- of the princess of Vidarbha; sah -- He; tu -- and; sandesam -- the confidential message; nisamya -- hearing; yadu-nandanah -- Lord Krishna, the descendant of Yadu; pragrihya -- taking; panina -- by His hand; panim -- the hand (of the brahmana messenger); prahasan -- smiling; idam -- this; abravit -- said.
