astiḥ prāptiś ca kaḿsasya

mahiṣyau bharatarṣabha

mṛte bhartari duḥkhārte

īyatuḥ sma pitur gṛhān

sri-sukah uvaca -- Sukadeva Gosvami said; astih praptih ca -- Asti and Prapti; kamsasya -- of Kamsa; mahishyau -- the queens; bharata-rishabha -- O hero of the Bharatas (Parikshit); mrite -- having been killed; bhartari -- their husband; duhkha -- with unhappiness; arte -- distressed; iyatuh sma -- they went; pituh -- of their father; grihan -- to the house.
