dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca
yathā vadati kalyāṇīḿ
vācaḿ dāna-pate bhavān
tathānayā na tṛpyāmi
martyaḥ prāpya yathāmṛtam
dhritarashtrah uvaca -- Dhritarashtra said; yatha -- as; vadati -- speak; kalyanim -- auspicious; vacam -- words; dana -- of charity; pate -- O master; bhavan -- you; tatha -- so; anaya -- by this; na tripyami -- I am not satiated; martyah -- a mortal; prapya -- attaining; yatha -- as if; amritam -- the nectar of immortality.
In the opinion of Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti, Dhritarashtra was in fact proud and felt he already knew everything Akrura was speaking, but to maintain diplomatic gravity he spoke as a saintly gentleman.
