tatra tavat -- that being the case; kriya-yogah -- this fruitive endeavor; bhavatam -- of yours; kim -- whether; vicaritah -- learned from the scriptures; atha va -- or else; laukikah -- of ordinary custom; tat -- that; me -- to Me; pricchatah -- who am inquiring; sadhu -- clearly; bhanyatam -- it should be explained.

Such being the case, this ritualistic endeavor of yours should be clearly explained to Me. Is it a ceremony based on scriptural injunction, or simply a custom of ordinary society?
