वरेण च्छन्दयामास प्रीतः सत्यवतीसुतः ।
वव्रे हतानां रामोऽपि जीवितं चास्मृतिं वधे ॥७॥

 vareṇa cchandayÄm Äsa - asked to take a benediction as he liked; prÄ«taḥ - being very pleased (with him); satyavatÄ«-sutaḥ - Jamadagni, the son of SatyavatÄ«; vavre - said; hatÄnÄm - of my dead mother and brothers; rÄmaḥ - ParaÅ›urÄma; api - also; jÄ«vitam - let them be alive; ca - also; asmá¹›tim - no remembrance; vadhe - of their having been killed by me.

Jamadagni, the son of SatyavatÄ«, was very much pleased with ParaÅ›urÄma and asked him to take any benediction he liked. Lord ParaÅ›urÄma replied, “Let my mother and brothers live again and not remember having been killed by me. This is the benediction I ask.â€
