तं नर्मदायास्तट उत्तरे बले
र्य ऋत्विजस्ते भृगुकच्छसंज्ञके ।
प्रवर्तयन्तो भृगवः क्रतूत्तमं
व्यचक्षतारादुदितं यथा रविम् ॥२१॥

 tam - Him (VÄmanadeva); narmadÄyÄḥ - of the River NarmadÄ; taá¹­e - on the bank; uttare - northern; baleḥ - of MahÄrÄja Bali; ye - who; á¹›tvijaḥ - the priests engaged in ritualistic ceremonies; te - all of them; bhá¹›gukaccha-saá¹jñake - in the field named Bhá¹›gukaccha; pravartayantaḥ - performing; bhá¹›gavaḥ - all the descendants of Bhá¹›gu; kratu-uttamam - the most important sacrifice, named aÅ›vamedha; vyacaká¹£ata - they observed; ÄrÄt - nearby; uditam - risen; yathÄ - like; ravim - the sun.

While engaged in performing the sacrifice in the field known as Bhá¹›gukaccha, on the northern bank of the NarmadÄ River, the brahminical priests, the descendants of Bhá¹›gu, saw VÄmanadeva to be like the sun rising nearby.
