तृतीय उत्तमो नाम प्रियव्रतसुतो मनुः ।
पवनः सृञ्जयो यज्ञ होत्राद्यास्तत्सुता नृप ॥२३॥

tá¹›tÄ«ya uttamo nÄma
priyavrata-suto manuḥ
pavanaḥ sṛñjayo yajña-
hotrÄdyÄs tat-sutÄ ná¹›pa

 tá¹›tÄ«yaḥ - the third; uttamaḥ - Uttama; nÄma - named; priyavrata - of King Priyavrata; sutaḥ - the son; manuḥ - he became the Manu; pavanaḥ - Pavana; sṛñjayaḥ - Sṛñjaya; yajñahotra-ÄdyÄḥ - Yajñahotra and others; tat-sutÄḥ - the sons of Uttama; ná¹›pa - O King.


Text

O King, the third Manu, Uttama, was the son of King Priyavrata. Among the sons of this Manu were Pavana, Sṛñjaya and Yajñahotra.
