buddhi-bhedaḥ para-kṛta
utÄho te svato 'bhavat
bhaṇyatÄá¹ Å›rotu-kÄmÄnÄá¹
gurūṇÄá¹ kula-nandana
buddhi-bhedaḥ - pollution of the intelligence; para-ká¹›taḥ - done by the enemies; utÄho - or; te - of you; svataḥ - by yourself; abhavat - was; bhaṇyatÄm - let it be told; Å›rotu-kÄmÄnÄm - to us, who are very eager to hear about it; gurūṇÄm - all your teachers; kula-nandana - O best of your family.
PrahlÄda MahÄrÄja’s teachers were astonished that a small boy could speak such exalted Vaiṣṇava philosophy. Therefore they inquired about the Vaiṣṇavas who stealthily taught it to him, in order that these Vaiṣṇavas might be arrested and killed in the presence of PrahlÄda’s father, HiraṇyakaÅ›ipu.
