रूपं तन्महदाश्चर्यं विचक्ष्यागतसाध्वसः ।
ननाम दण्डवद् भूमौ प्रहृष्टात्मा प्रजापतिः ॥४०॥

vicaká¹£yÄgata-sÄdhvasaḥ
nanÄma daṇá¸avad bhÅ«mau
prahṛṣṭÄtmÄ prajÄpatiḥ

 rÅ«pam - transcendental form; tat - that; mahat-ÄÅ›caryam - greatly wonderful; vicaká¹£ya - seeing; Ägata-sÄdhvasaḥ - in the beginning becoming afraid; nanÄma - offered obeisances; daṇá¸a-vat - like a stick; bhÅ«mau - on the ground; prahṛṣṭa-ÄtmÄ - being pleased in his body, mind and soul; prajÄpatiḥ - the prajÄpati known as Daká¹£a.

Seeing that wonderful and effulgent form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, PrajÄpati Daká¹£a was first somewhat afraid, but then he was very pleased to see the Lord, and he fell to the ground like a stick to offer his respects to the Lord.
