मनसैवासृजत्पूर्वं प्रजापतिरिमाः प्रजाः ।
देवासुरमनुष्यादीन्नभःस्थलजलौकसः ॥१९॥

 manasÄ - by the mind; eva - indeed; asá¹›jat - created; pÅ«rvam - in the beginning; prajÄpatiḥ - the prajÄpati (Daká¹£a); imÄḥ - these; prajÄḥ - living entities; deva - the demigods; asura - the demons; manuá¹£ya-ÄdÄ«n - and other living entities, headed by the human beings; nabhaḥ - in the skies; sthala - on the land; jala - or within the water; okasaḥ - who have their abodes.

With his mind, PrajÄpati Daká¹£a first created all kinds of demigods, demons, human beings, birds, beasts, aquatics and so on.
