श्रीअङ्गिरा उवाच
अहं ते पुत्रकामस्य पुत्रदोऽस्म्यङ्गिरा नृप ।
एष ब्रह्मसुतः साक्षान्नारदो भगवानृषिः ॥१७॥

putrado 'smy aá¹…girÄ ná¹›pa
eá¹£a brahma-sutaḥ sÄká¹£Än
nÄrado bhagavÄn ṛṣiḥ

 Å›rÄ«-aá¹…girÄḥ uvÄca - the great sage Aá¹…girÄ said; aham - I; te - of you; putra-kÄmasya - desiring to have a son; putra-daḥ - the giver of the son; asmi - am; aá¹…girÄḥ - Aá¹…girÄ á¹šá¹£i; ná¹›pa - O King; eá¹£aḥ - this; brahma-sutaḥ - the son of Lord BrahmÄ; sÄká¹£Ät - directly; nÄradaḥ - NÄrada Muni; bhagavÄn - the most powerful; á¹›á¹£iḥ - sage.

Aá¹…girÄ said: My dear King, when you desired to have a son, I approached you. Indeed, I am the same Aá¹…girÄ á¹šá¹£i who gave you this son. As for this ṛṣi, he is the great sage NÄrada, the direct son of Lord BrahmÄ.
