ओजः सहो बलं प्राणममृतं मृत्युमेव च ।
तमज्ञाय जनो हेतुमात्मानं मन्यते जडम् ॥९॥

ojaḥ saho balaá¹ prÄṇam
amá¹›taá¹ má¹›tyum eva ca
tam ajñÄya jano hetum
ÄtmÄnaá¹ manyate jaá¸am

 ojaḥ - the strength of the senses; sahaḥ - the strength of the mind; balam - the strength of the body; prÄṇam - the living condition; amá¹›tam - immortality; má¹›tyum - death; eva - indeed; ca - also; tam - Him (the Supreme Lord); ajñÄya - without knowing; janaḥ - a foolish person; hetum - the cause; ÄtmÄnam - the body; manyate - considers; jaá¸am - although as good as stone.

Our sensory prowess, mental power, bodily strength, living force, immortality and mortality are all subject to the superintendence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Not knowing this, foolish people think the dull material body to be the cause of their activities.
