वृत्रस्य कर्मातिमहाद्भुतं तत्
सुरासुराश्चारणसिद्धसङ्घाः ।
अपूजयंस्तत् पुरुहूतसङ्कटं
निरीक्ष्य हा हेति विचुक्रुशुर्भृशम् ॥५॥

vá¹›trasya karmÄti-mahÄdbhutaá¹ tat
surÄsurÄÅ› cÄraṇa-siddha-saá¹…ghÄḥ
apÅ«jayaá¹s tat puruhÅ«ta-saá¹…kaá¹­aá¹
nirÄ«ká¹£ya hÄ heti vicukruÅ›ur bhṛśam

 vá¹›trasya - of Vá¹›trÄsura; karma - the accomplishment; ati - very; mahÄ - greatly; adbhutam - wonderful; tat - that; sura - the demigods; asurÄḥ - and the demons; cÄraṇa - the CÄraṇas; siddha-saá¹…ghÄḥ - and the society of Siddhas; apÅ«jayan - glorified; tat - that; puruhÅ«ta-saá¹…kaá¹­am - the dangerous position of Indra; nirÄ«ká¹£ya - seeing; hÄ hÄ - alas, alas; iti - thus; vicukruÅ›uḥ - lamented; bhṛśam - very much.

The denizens of various planets, like the demigods, demons, CÄraṇas and Siddhas, praised Vá¹›trÄsura’s deed, but when they observed that Indra was in great danger, they lamented, “Alas! Alas!â€
