विलोक्य तं वज्रधरोऽत्यमर्षितः
स्वशत्रवेऽभिद्रवते महागदाम् ।
चिक्षेप तामापततीं सुदुःसहां
जग्राह वामेन करेण लीलया ॥९॥

sva-Å›atrave 'bhidravate mahÄ-gadÄm
ciká¹£epa tÄm ÄpatatīṠsuduḥsahÄá¹
jagrÄha vÄmena kareṇa lÄ«layÄ

 vilokya - seeing; tam - him (Vá¹›trÄsura); vajra-dharaḥ - the carrier of the thunderbolt (King Indra); ati - very much; amará¹£itaḥ - intolerant; sva - his own; Å›atrave - toward the enemy; abhidravate - running; mahÄ-gadÄm - a very powerful club; ciká¹£epa - threw; tÄm - that (club); ÄpatatÄ«m - flying toward him; su-duḥsahÄm - very difficult to counteract; jagrÄha - caught; vÄmena - with his left; kareṇa - hand; lÄ«layÄ - very easily.

Seeing Vá¹›trÄsura’s disposition, Indra, the King of heaven, became intolerant and threw at him one of his great clubs, which are extremely difficult to counteract. However, as the club flew toward him, Vá¹›trÄsura easily caught it with his left hand.
