तेन देवगणाः सर्वे वृत्रविस्फोटनेन वै ।
निपेतुर्मूर्च्छिता भूमौ यथैवाशनिना हताः ॥७॥

tena deva-gaṇÄḥ sarve
vá¹›tra-visphoá¹­anena vai
nipetur mÅ«rcchitÄ bhÅ«mau
yathaivÄÅ›aninÄ hatÄḥ

 tena - by that; deva-gaṇÄḥ - the demigods; sarve - all; vá¹›tra-visphoá¹­anena - the tumultuous sound of Vá¹›trÄsura; vai - indeed; nipetuḥ - fell; mÅ«rcchitÄḥ - fainted; bhÅ«mau - on the ground; yathÄ - just as if; eva - indeed; aÅ›aninÄ - by a thunderbolt; hatÄḥ - struck.

When all the demigods heard Vá¹›trÄsura’s tumultuous roar, which resembled that of a lion, they fainted and fell to the ground as if struck by thunderbolts.
