sa kadÄcid aá¹amÄno bhagavÄn ṛṣabho brahmÄvarta-gato brahmará¹£i-pravara-sabhÄyÄá¹ prajÄnÄá¹ niÅ›ÄmayantÄ«nÄm ÄtmajÄn avahitÄtmanaḥ praÅ›raya-praṇaya-bhara-suyantritÄn apy upaÅ›iká¹£ayann iti hovÄca
saḥ - He; kadÄcit - once; aá¹amÄnaḥ - while on tour; bhagavÄn - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; ṛṣabhaḥ - Lord Ṛṣabha; brahmÄvarta-gataḥ - when He reached the place known as BrahmÄvarta (identified by some as Burma and by others as a place near Kanpura, Uttar Pradesh); brahma-ṛṣi-pravara-sabhÄyÄm - in a meeting of first-class brÄhmaṇas; prajÄnÄm - while the citizens; niÅ›ÄmayantÄ«nÄm - were hearing; ÄtmajÄn - His sons; avahita-Ätmanaḥ - attentive; praÅ›raya - of good behavior; praṇaya - of devotion; bhara - by an abundance; su-yantritÄn - well controlled; api - although; upaÅ›iká¹£ayan - teaching; iti - thus; ha - certainly; uvÄca - said.
The instructions of Lord Ṛṣabhadeva to His sons are very valuable if one wants to live peacefully within this world, which is full of miseries. In the next chapter, Lord Ṛṣabhadeva gives His sons these valuable instructions.
