श्रीशुक उवाच
इति निगदेनाभिष्टूयमानो भगवाननिमिषर्षभो वर्षधराभिवादिताभिवन्दित
चरणः सदयमिदमाह ॥१६॥

Å›rÄ«-Å›uka uvÄca
iti nigadenÄbhiṣṭūyamÄno bhagavÄn animiá¹£ará¹£abho vará¹£a-dharÄbhivÄditÄbhivandita-caraṇaḥ sadayam idam Äha

 Å›rÄ«-Å›ukaḥ uvÄca - ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; iti - thus; nigadena - by prayers in prose; abhiṣṭūyamÄnaḥ - being worshiped; bhagavÄn - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; animiá¹£a-ṛṣabhaḥ - the chief of all the demigods; vará¹£a-dhara - by King NÄbhi, the Emperor of BhÄrata-vará¹£a; abhivÄdita - worshiped; abhivandita - were bowed down to; caraṇaḥ - whose feet; sadayam - kindly; idam - this; Äha - said.

ÅšrÄ« Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said: The priests, who were even worshiped by King NÄbhi, the Emperor of BhÄrata-vará¹£a, offered prayers in prose [generally they were in poetry] and bowed down at the Lord’s lotus feet. The Lord of lords, the ruler of the demigods, was very pleased with them, and He began to speak as follows.
