kecanaitaj jyotir-anÄ«kaá¹ Å›iÅ›umÄra-saá¹sthÄnena bhagavato vÄsudevasya yoga-dhÄraṇÄyÄm anuvarṇayanti
kecana - some yogÄ«s or learned scholars of astronomy; etat - this; jyotiḥ-anÄ«kam - great wheel of planets and stars; Å›iÅ›umÄra-saá¹sthÄnena - imagine this wheel to be a Å›iÅ›umÄra (dolphin); bhagavataḥ - of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; vÄsudevasya - Lord VÄsudeva (the son of Vasudeva), Kṛṣṇa; yoga-dhÄraṇÄyÄm - in absorption in worship; anuvarṇayanti - describe.
Transcendentalists such as yogÄ«s whose minds cannot accommodate the form of the Lord prefer to visualize something very great, such as the virÄá¹-puruá¹£a. Therefore some yogÄ«s contemplate this imaginary Å›iÅ›umÄra to be swimming in the sky the way a dolphin swims in water. They meditate upon it as the virÄá¹-rÅ«pa, the gigantic form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
