तस्मिन्नक्षे कृतमूलो द्वितीयोऽक्षस्तुर्यमानेन सम्मितस्तैलयन्त्राक्षवद् ध्रुवे
कृतोपरिभागः ॥१४॥

tasminn aká¹£e ká¹›tamÅ«lo dvitÄ«yo 'ká¹£as turyamÄnena sammitas taila-yantrÄká¹£avad dhruve ká¹›topari-bhÄgaḥ

 tasmin aká¹£e - in that axle; ká¹›ta-mÅ«laḥ - whose base is fixed; dvitÄ«yaḥ - a second; aká¹£aḥ - axle; turyamÄnena - by one fourth; sammitaḥ - measured; taila-yantra-aká¹£a-vat - like the axle of an oil-pressing machine; dhruve - to Dhruvaloka; ká¹›ta - fixed; upari-bhÄgaḥ - upper portion.

As in an oil-pressing machine, this first axle is attached to a second axle, which is one-fourth as long [3,937,500 yojanas, or 31,500,000 miles]. The upper end of this second axle is attached to Dhruvaloka by a rope of wind.
