चतुर्ष्वे तेषु चूतजम्बूकदम्बन्यग्रोधाश्चत्वारः पादप प्रवराः पर्वतकेतव इवाधि
सहस्रयोजनोन्नाहास्तावद् विटपविततयः शतयोजनपरिणाहाः ॥१२॥

caturá¹£v eteá¹£u cÅ«ta-jambÅ«-kadamba-nyagrodhÄÅ› catvÄraḥ pÄdapa-pravarÄḥ parvata-ketava ivÄdhi-sahasra-yojanonnÄhÄs tÄvad viá¹­apa-vitatayaḥ Å›ata-yojana-pariṇÄhÄḥ

 caturá¹£u - on the four; eteá¹£u - on these mountains, beginning with Mandara; cÅ«ta-jambÅ«-kadamba - of trees such as the mango, rose apple and kadamba; nyagrodhÄḥ - and the banyan tree; catvÄraḥ - four kinds; pÄdapa-pravarÄḥ - the best of trees; parvata-ketavaḥ - the flagstaffs on the mountains; iva - like; adhi - over; sahasra-yojana-unnÄhÄḥ - one thousand yojanas high; tÄvat - so much also; viá¹­apa-vitatayaḥ - the length of the branches; Å›ata-yojana - one hundred yojanas; pariṇÄhÄḥ - wide.

Standing like flagstaffs on the summits of these four mountains are a mango tree, a rose apple tree, a kadamba tree and a banyan tree. Those trees are calculated to have a width of 100 yojanas [800 miles] and a height of 1,100 yojanas [8,800 miles]. Their branches also spread to a radius of 1,100 yojanas.
