jambÅ« - JambÅ«; plaká¹£a - Plaká¹£a; Å›Älmali - ÅšÄlmali; kuÅ›a - KuÅ›a; krauñca - Krauñca; Å›Äka - ÅšÄka; puá¹£kara - Puá¹£kara; saá¹jñÄḥ - known as; teá¹£Äm - of them; parimÄṇam - measurement; pÅ«rvasmÄt pÅ«rvasmÄt - from the former; uttaraḥ uttaraḥ - the following; yathÄ - according to; saá¹…khyam - number; dvi-guṇa - twice as much; mÄnena - with a measure; bahiḥ - outside; samantataḥ - all around; upakḷptÄḥ - produced.
The names of the islands are JambÅ«, Plaká¹£a, ÅšÄlmali, KuÅ›a, Krauñca, ÅšÄka and Puá¹£kara. Each island is twice as large as the one preceding it, and each is surrounded by a liquid substance, beyond which is the next island.
