सुनीतिरस्य जननी प्राणेभ्योऽपि प्रियं सुतम् ।
उपगुह्य जहावाधिं तदङ्गस्पर्शनिर्वृता ॥४९॥

sunītir asya jananī
prÄṇebhyo 'pi priyaá¹ sutam
upaguhya jahÄv Ädhiá¹
tad-aá¹…ga-sparÅ›a-nirvá¹›tÄ

 sunÄ«tiḥ - SunÄ«ti, the real mother of Dhruva MahÄrÄja; asya - his; jananÄ« - mother; prÄṇebhyaḥ - more than life air; api - even; priyam - dear; sutam - son; upaguhya - embracing; jahau - gave up; Ädhim - all grief; tat-aá¹…ga - his body; sparÅ›a - touching; nirvá¹›tÄ - being satisfied.

SunÄ«ti, the real mother of Dhruva MahÄrÄja, embraced the tender body of her son, who was dearer to her than her own life, and thus forgot all material grief, for she was very pleased.
