तृतीयं चानयन्मासं नवमे नवमेऽहनि ।
अब्भक्ष उत्तमश्लोकमुपाधावत्समाधिना ॥७४॥

tá¹›tÄ«yaá¹ cÄnayan mÄsaá¹
navame navame 'hani
ab-bhakṣa uttamaślokam
upÄdhÄvat samÄdhinÄ

 tá¹›tÄ«yam - the third month; ca - also; Änayan - passing; mÄsam - one month; navame navame - on each ninth; ahani - on the day; ap-bhaká¹£aḥ - drinking water only; uttama-Å›lokam - the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is worshiped by selected verses; upÄdhÄvat - worshiped; samÄdhinÄ - in trance.

In the third month he drank water only every nine days. Thus he remained completely in trance and worshiped the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is adored by selected verses.
