maitreya uvÄca
iti bruvÄṇaá¹ ná¹›patiá¹
pitá¹›-deva-dvijÄtayaḥ
tuá¹£á¹uvur hṛṣá¹a-manasaḥ
sÄdhu-vÄdena sÄdhavaḥ
maitreyaḥ uvÄca - the great sage Maitreya continued to speak; iti - thus; bruvÄṇam - while speaking; ná¹›-patim - the King; pitá¹› - the denizens of Pitá¹›loka; deva - the demigods; dvi-jÄtayaḥ - and the twice-born (the brÄhmaṇas and the Vaiṣṇavas); tuá¹£á¹uvuḥ - satisfied; hṛṣá¹a-manasaḥ - greatly pacified in mind; sÄdhu-vÄdena - by expressing congratulations; sÄdhavaḥ - all the saintly persons present.
When a person speaks very nicely at a meeting, he is congratulated by the audience, who express their good will with the words sÄdhu, sÄdhu. This is called sÄdhu-vÄda. All the saintly persons, PitÄs (denizens of Pitá¹›loka) and demigods who were present at the meeting and heard Pá¹›thu MahÄrÄja expressed their good will with the words sÄdhu, sÄdhu. They all accepted the good mission of Pá¹›thu MahÄrÄja, and they were fully satisfied.
