 atriḥ - the great sage Atri; sandarÅ›ayÄm Äsa - caused to see; tvaramÄṇam - going very hastily; vihÄyasÄ - in the sky; kapÄla-khaá¹­vÄá¹…ga - a stag with a skull at the top; dharam - who carried; vÄ«raḥ - the hero (King Pá¹›thu's son); na - not; enam - the King of heaven, Indra; abÄdhata - killed.

The great sage Atri again pointed out to the son of King Pá¹›thu that Indra was fleeing through the sky. The great hero, the son of Pá¹›thu, chased him again. But when he saw that Indra was carrying in his hand a staff with a skull at the top and was again wearing the dress of a sannyÄsÄ«, he still chose not to kill him.
