तमूचुर्विस्मितास्तत्र यजमानमथर्त्विजः ।
हवींषि हूयमानानि न ते गृह्णन्ति देवताः ॥२६॥

tam Å«cur vismitÄs tatra
yajamÄnam athartvijaḥ
havÄ«á¹á¹£i hÅ«yamÄnÄni
na te gá¹›hṇanti devatÄḥ

 tam - unto King Aá¹…ga; Å«cuḥ - said; vismitÄḥ - in wonder; tatra - there; yajamÄnam - to the institutor of the sacrifice; atha - then; á¹›tvijaḥ - the priests; havÄ«á¹á¹£i - offerings of clarified butter; hÅ«yamÄnÄni - being offered; na - not; te - they; gá¹›hṇanti - accept; devatÄḥ - the demigods.

The priests engaged in the sacrifice then informed King Aá¹…ga: O King, we are properly offering the clarified butter in the sacrifice, but despite all our efforts the demigods do not accept it.
