सोमोऽभूद्ब्रह्मणोऽशेन दत्तो विष्णोस्तु योगवित् ।
दुर्वासाः शङ्करस्यांशो निबोधाङ्गिरसः प्रजाः ॥३३॥

datto viṣṇos tu yogavit
durvÄsÄḥ Å›aá¹…karasyÄmÅ›o
nibodhÄá¹…girasaḥ prajÄḥ

 somaḥ - the king of the moon planet; abhÅ«t - appeared; brahmaṇaḥ - of Lord BrahmÄ; amÅ›ena - partial expansion; dattaḥ - DattÄtreya; viṣṇoḥ - of Viṣṇu; tu - but; yoga-vit - very powerful yogÄ«; durvÄsÄḥ - DurvÄsÄ; Å›aá¹…karasya amÅ›aḥ - partial expansion of Lord Åšiva; nibodha - just try to understand; aá¹…girasaḥ - of the great sage Aá¹…girÄ; prajÄḥ - generations.

Thereafter, from the partial representation of BrahmÄ, the moon-god was born of them; from the partial representation of Viṣṇu, the great mystic DattÄtreya was born; and from the partial representation of Åšaá¹…kara [Lord Åšiva], DurvÄsÄ was born. Now you may hear from me of the many sons of Aá¹…girÄ.
