etat ta Ädi-rÄjasya
manoÅ› caritam adbhutam
varṇitaṠvarṇanīyasya
tad-apatyodayaṠśṛṇu
etat - this; te - unto you; Ädi-rÄjasya - of the first emperor; manoḥ - of SvÄyambhuva Manu; caritam - the character; adbhutam - wonderful; varṇitam - described; varṇanÄ«yasya - whose reputation is worthy of description; tat-apatya - of his daughter; udayam - to the flourishing; śṛṇu - please listen.
