मानयन्नात्मनात्मानमात्माभासं विलोकयन् ॥४५॥

 saḥ - Lord BrahmÄ; kinnarÄn - the Kinnaras; kimpuruá¹£Än - the Kimpuruá¹£as; pratyÄtmyena - from his reflection (in water); asá¹›jat - created; prabhuḥ - the lord of the living beings (BrahmÄ); mÄnayan - admiring; ÄtmanÄ ÄtmÄnam - himself by himself; Ätma-ÄbhÄsam - his reflection; vilokayan - seeing.

One day, BrahmÄ, the creator of the living entities, beheld his own reflection in the water, and admiring himself, he evolved Kimpuruá¹£as as well as Kinnaras out of that reflection.
