taáš muᚣášibhir vinighnantaáš
vajra-sÄrair adhokᚣajaḼ
kareáša karáša-mĹŤle 'han

tam - HiraášyÄkᚣa; muᚣášibhiḼ - with his fists; vinighnantam - striking; vajra-sÄraiḼ - as hard as a thunderbolt; adhokᚣajaḼ - Lord Adhokᚣaja; kareáša - with the hand; karáša-mĹŤle - at the root of the ear; ahan - struck; yathÄ - as; tvÄᚣášram - the demon Váštra (son of TvaᚣášÄ); marut-patiḼ - Indra (lord of the Maruts).
The Lord is explained here to be adhokᚣaja, beyond the reach of all material calculation. Akᚣaja means âthe measurement of our senses,â and adhokᚣaja means âthat which is beyond the measurement of our senses.â
