ऋषीणां भूरिवीर्याणामपि सर्गमविस्तृतम् ।
ज्ञात्वा तद्धृदये भूयश्चिन्तयामास कौरव ॥५०॥

 á¹›á¹£Ä«á¹‡Äm - of the great sages; bhÅ«ri-vÄ«ryÄṇÄm - with great potential power; api - in spite of; sargam - the creation; avistá¹›tam - not extended; jñÄtvÄ - knowing; tat - that; há¹›daye - in his heart; bhÅ«yaḥ - again; cintayÄm Äsa - he began to consider; kaurava - O son of the Kurus.

O son of the Kurus, when BrahmÄ saw that in spite of the presence of sages of great potency there was no sufficient increase in population, he seriously began to consider how the population could be increased.
