sÄmudraá¹ daihikaá¹ bhaumaá¹
rasaá¹ sÄá¹vartako raviḥ
raśmibhiḥ pibate ghoraiḥ
sarvaṠnaiva vimuñcati

 sÄmudram - of the ocean; daihikam - of living bodies; bhaumam - of the earth; rasam - the juice; sÄá¹vartakaḥ - annihilating; raviḥ - the sun; raÅ›mibhiḥ - with its rays; pibate - drinks up; ghoraiḥ - which are terrible; sarvam - all; na - nothing; eva - even; vimuñcati - gives.


Text

The sun in its annihilating form will drink up with its terrible rays all the water of the ocean, of living bodies and of the earth itself. But the devastating sun will not give any rain in return.
