rÄjante tÄvad anyÄni
purÄṇÄni satÄá¹ gaṇe
yÄvad bhÄgavataá¹ naiva
Å›rÅ«yate 'má¹›ta-sÄgaram
rÄjante - they shine forth; tÄvat - that long; anyÄni - the other; purÄṇÄni - PurÄṇas; satÄm - of saintly persons; gaṇe - in the assembly; yÄvat - as long as; bhÄgavatam - ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam; na - not; eva - indeed; Å›rÅ«yate - is heard; amá¹›ta-sÄgaram - the great ocean of nectar.
All other PurÄṇic scriptures shine forth in the assembly of saintly devotees only as long as that great ocean of nectar, ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam, is not heard.
Other Vedic literatures and other scriptures of the world remain prominent until the ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam is duly heard and understood. ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam is the ocean of nectar and the supreme literature. By faithful hearing, recitation and distribution of ÅšrÄ«mad-BhÄgavatam, the world will be sanctified and other, inferior literatures will fade to minor status.
