indrÄyÄnamya sadasi
śṛṇvatÄá¹ tri-divaukasÄm
Å«cur nÄrÄyaṇa-balaá¹
Å›akras tatrÄsa vismitaḥ

 indrÄya - to Lord Indra; Änamya - bowing down; sadasi - in his assembly; Å›á¹›á¹‡vatÄm - while they were listening; tri-diva - the three heavens; okasÄm - whose residents; Å«cuḥ - they told; nÄrÄyaṇa-balam - about the strength of Lord NÄrÄyaṇa; Å›akraḥ - Indra; tatra - at that; Äsa - became; vismitaḥ - surprised.


Text

The servants of the demigods reached the assembly of Indra, and thus, while all the residents of the three heavens listened, they explained to Indra the supreme power of NÄrÄyaṇa. When Indra heard of Nara-NÄrÄyaṇa Ṛṣi and became aware of his offense, he was both frightened and astonished.
