Å›ayÄnam uká¹£antam adantam annam
svabhÄvam anyat kim apÄ«hamÄnam
ÄtmÄnam Ätma-stha-matir na veda

 tiṣṭhantam - standing; ÄsÄ«nam - sitting; uta - or; vrajantam - walking; Å›ayÄnam - lying down; uká¹£antam - urinating; adantam - eating; annam - food; sva-bhÄvam - manifested from his conditioned nature; anyat - other; kim api - whatever; Ä«hamÄnam - executing; ÄtmÄnam - his own bodily self; Ätma-stha - fixed in the true self; matiḥ - whose consciousness; na veda - he does not recognize.

The wise man, whose consciousness is fixed in the self, does not even notice his own bodily activities. While standing, sitting, walking, lying down, urinating, eating or performing other bodily functions, he understands that the body is acting according to its own nature.
