bhīmo duryodhanaḥ karṇo
nÄvidaá¹s tad-avasthitim
sajyam - strung; ká¹›tvÄ - making (the bow); apare - other; vÄ«rÄḥ - heroes; mÄgadha - the King of Magadha (JarÄsandha); ambaá¹£á¹ha - the King of Ambaá¹£á¹ha; cedi-pÄḥ - the ruler of Cedi (ÅšiÅ›upÄla); bhÄ«maḥ duryodhanaḥ karṇaḥ - BhÄ«ma, Duryodhana and Karṇa; na avidan - they could not find; tad - of it (the target); avasthitim - the location.
A few heroes — namely JarÄsandha, ÅšiÅ›upÄla, BhÄ«ma, Duryodhana, Karṇa and the King of Ambaá¹£á¹ha — succeeded in stringing the bow, but none of them could find the target.
These kings were very strong physically, but they were not skillful enough to find the target.
