Å›rÄ«-Å›ukaḥ uvÄca - Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« said; evam - in this way; saurata - conjugal; saá¹lÄpaiḥ - by conversations; bhagavÄn - the Supreme Lord; jagat - of the universe; īśvaraḥ - the master; sva - in Himself; rataḥ - taking pleasure; ramayÄ - with RamÄ, the goddess of fortune (that is, with Queen Rukmiṇī); reme - He enjoyed; nara-lokam - the world of humans; viá¸ambayan - imitating.
The word viá¸ambayan means “imitating†and also “ridiculing.†The Lord acted like a husband of this world, but His pastimes are transcendental and expose the perverted nature of mundane activities aimed at bodily sense gratification.
