nirasya vaktrair vyanadat sa pañcabhiḥ

 Ävidhya - whirling about; Å›Å«lam - his trident; tarasÄ - with great force; garutmate - at Garuá¸a; nirasya - throwing it; vaktraiḥ - with his mouths; vyanadat - roared; saḥ - he; pañcabhiḥ - five; saḥ - that; rodasÄ« - the earth and sky; sarva - all; diÅ›aḥ - the directions; ambaram - outer space; mahÄn - the great (roar); ÄpÅ«rayan - filling; aṇda - of the egglike covering of the universe; kaá¹­Äham - the pot; Ävṛṇot - covered.

Mura whirled his trident and then hurled it fiercely at Garuá¸a, roaring from all five mouths. The sound filled the earth and sky, all directions and the limits of outer space, until it reverberated against the very shell of the universe.
