keÅ›avo dvÄrakÄm etya
nidhanaṠśatadhanvanaḥ
aprÄptiá¹ ca maṇeḥ prÄha
priyÄyÄḥ priya-ká¹›d vibhuḥ
keÅ›avaḥ - Lord Kṛṣṇa; dvÄrakÄm - to DvÄrakÄ; etya - coming; nidhanam - the demise; Å›atadhanvanaḥ - of ÅšatadhanvÄ; aprÄptim - the failure to obtain; ca - and; maṇeḥ - the jewel; prÄha - he told; priyÄyÄḥ - of His beloved (Queen SatyabhÄmÄ); priya - the pleasure; ká¹›t - doing; vibhuḥ - the all-powerful Lord.
Lord KeÅ›ava arrived in DvÄrakÄ and described the demise of ÅšatadhanvÄ and His own failure to find the Syamantaka jewel. He spoke in a way that would please His beloved, SatyabhÄmÄ.
Naturally Queen SatyabhÄmÄ was pleased to hear that her father’s murderer had been brought to justice. But her father’s Syamantaka jewel still had to be recovered, and thus she was also pleased to hear of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s determination to recover it.
