bandhubhir gÄndinÄ«-sutaḥ
sampṛṣṭas taiḥ suhá¹›d-vÄrtÄá¹
svayaá¹ cÄpá¹›cchad avyayam

 yathÄ-vat - appropriately; upasaá¹…gamya - meeting; bandhubhiḥ - with his relatives and friends; gÄndinÄ«-sutaḥ - AkrÅ«ra, son of GÄndinÄ«; sampṛṣṭaḥ - inquired from; taiḥ - by them; suhá¹›t - of their dear ones; vÄrtÄm - for news; svayam - himself; ca - in addition; apá¹›cchat - asked; avyayam - about their well-being.

After AkrÅ«ra, the son of GÄndinÄ«, had appropriately greeted all his relatives and friends, they asked him for news of their family members, and he in turn asked about their welfare.
