samanandan prajÄḥ sarvÄ
dṛṣṭvÄ rÄma-janÄrdanau
apaÅ›yantyo bahv ahÄni
naṣṭa-labdha-dhanÄ iva

 samanandan - rejoiced; prajÄḥ - the citizens; sarvÄḥ - all; dṛṣṭvÄ - seeing; rÄma-janÄrdanau - BalarÄma and Kṛṣṇa; apaÅ›yantyaḥ - not having seen; bahu - for many; ahÄni - days; naṣṭa - lost; labdha - and regained; dhanÄḥ - those whose wealth; iva - like.


Text

All the citizens rejoiced upon seeing Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma, whom they had not seen for many days. The people felt just like those who have lost their wealth and then regained it.
