tasmÄt sarvÄtmanÄ rÄjan
brÄhmaṇÄn brahma-vÄdinaḥ
tapasvino yajña-śīlÄn
gÄÅ› ca hanmo havir-dughÄḥ

 tasmÄt - therefore; sarva-ÄtmanÄ - in every respect; rÄjan - O King; brÄhmaṇÄn - the brÄhmaṇas; brahma-vÄdinaḥ - who maintain the brahminical culture, centered around Viṣṇu; tapasvinaḥ - persons who are engaged in austerities; yajña-śīlÄn - persons engaged in offering sacrifices; gÄḥ ca - cows and persons engaged in protecting cows; hanmaḥ - we shall kill; haviḥ-dughÄḥ - because they supply milk, from which clarified butter is obtained for the offering of sacrifice.

O King, we, who are your adherents in all respects, shall therefore kill the Vedic brÄhmaṇas, the persons engaged in offering sacrifices and austerities, and the cows that supply milk, from which clarified butter is obtained for the ingredients of sacrifice.
