Å›aá¹…khacÅ«á¸aá¹ nihatyaivaá¹
maṇim ÄdÄya bhÄsvaram
agrajÄyÄdadÄt prÄ«tyÄ
paÅ›yantÄ«nÄá¹ ca yoá¹£itÄm
Å›aá¹…khacÅ«á¸am - the demon Åšaá¹…khacÅ«á¸a; nihatya - killing; evam - in this manner; maṇim - the jewel; ÄdÄya - taking; bhÄsvaram - brilliant; agra-jÄya - to His elder brother (Lord BalarÄma); adadÄt - gave; prÄ«tyÄ - with satisfaction; paÅ›yantÄ«nÄm - as they were watching; ca - and; yoá¹£itÄm - the women.
Various gopÄ«s perhaps thought that Govinda would give one of them the valuable jewel. To prevent rivalry among them, ÅšrÄ« Kṛṣṇa happily gave the jewel to His older brother, BalarÄma.
