Å›rÄ«-ṛṣir uvÄca
mukto bhagavatÄ rÄjan
kṛṣṇenÄdbhuta-karmaṇÄ
taá¹ pÅ«jayÄm Äsa mudÄ
nÄga-patnyaÅ› ca sÄdaram
Å›rÄ«-ṛṣiḥ uvÄca - the sage (Åšukadeva) said; muktaḥ - freed; bhagavatÄ - by the Supreme Personality of Godhead; rÄjan - O King ParÄ«ká¹£it; kṛṣṇena - by Lord Kṛṣṇa; adbhuta-karmaá¹‡Ä - whose activities are very wonderful; tam - Him; pÅ«jayÄm Äsa - worshiped; mudÄ - with pleasure; nÄga - of the serpent; patnyaḥ - the wives; ca - and; sa-Ädaram - with reverence.
Åšukadeva GosvÄmÄ« continued: My dear King, having been released by Lord Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whose activities are wonderful, KÄliya joined his wives in worshiping Him with great joy and reverence.
ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« ṬhÄkura comments as follows on this verse: “The word adbhuta-karmaá¹‡Ä indicates the Lord’s wonderful activities of saving the residents of Vá¹›ndÄvana from KÄliya, saving KÄliya himself from Garuá¸a, and bestowing grace upon both the victims of violence and the committer of that violence.†The word kṛṣṇena, “by Kṛṣṇa,†indicates that because KÄliya’s wives were great devotees of the Lord and offered Him loving affection, Kṛṣṇa withdrew (kará¹£aṇam) both KÄliya’s offense against the Lord’s devotee Garuá¸a and that against the residents of Vá¹›ndÄvana, who were very dear to Him.
