एवंविधा गदन्तीनां स गिरः पुरयोषिताम् ।
निरीक्षणेनाभिनन्दन्सस्मितेन ययौ हरिः ॥३१॥

sa giraḥ pura-yoá¹£itÄm
nirÄ«ká¹£aṇenÄbhinandan
sasmitena yayau hariḥ

 evaá¹vidhÄḥ - in this way; gadantÄ«nÄm - thus praying and talking about Him; saḥ - He (the Lord); giraḥ - of words; pura-yoá¹£itÄm - of the ladies of the capital; nirÄ«ká¹£aṇena - by His grace of glancing over them; abhinandan - and greeting them; sa-smitena - with a smiling face; yayau - departed; hariḥ - the Personality of Godhead.

While the ladies of the capital [HastinÄpura] were greeting Him and talking in this way, the Lord, smiling, accepted their good greetings, and casting the grace of His glance over them, He departed from the city.
