'Ätma-bhÅ«ta'-Å›abde kahe 'pÄriá¹£ada-gaṇa'
aiÅ›varya-jñÄne laká¹£mÄ« nÄ pÄilÄ vrajendra-nandana

 Ätma-bhÅ«ta-Å›abde - the word Ätma-bhÅ«ta; kahe - means; pÄriá¹£ada-gaṇa - personal associates; aiÅ›varya-jñÄne - in the understanding of opulence; laká¹£mÄ« - the goddess of fortune; nÄ pÄilÄ - could not get; vrajendra-nandana - the shelter of Kṛṣṇa, the son of Nanda MahÄrÄja.

“The word ‘Ätma-bhÅ«ta’ means ‘personal associates.’ Through the understanding of the Lord’s opulence, the goddess of fortune could not receive the shelter of Kṛṣṇa, the son of Nanda MahÄrÄja.

Purport

Laká¹£mÄ«, the goddess of fortune, has complete knowledge of Kṛṣṇa’s opulences, but she could not achieve the association of Kṛṣṇa by dint of such knowledge. The devotees in Vá¹›ndÄvana, however, actually enjoy the association of Kṛṣṇa.
