The following summary of the fifth chapter is given by ÅšrÄ«la Bhaktivinoda ṬhÄkura in his Amá¹›ta-pravÄha-bhÄá¹£ya. Pradyumna MiÅ›ra, a resident of ÅšrÄ«haá¹á¹a, came to see ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu to hear from Him about Lord Kṛṣṇa and His pastimes. The Lord, however, sent him to ÅšrÄ«la RÄmÄnanda RÄya. ÅšrÄ«la RÄmÄnanda RÄya was training the deva-dÄsÄ« dancing girls in the temple, and when Pradyumna MiÅ›ra heard about this, he returned to ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu. The Lord, however, elaborately described the character of ÅšrÄ«la RÄmÄnanda RÄya. Then Pradyumna MiÅ›ra went to see RÄmÄnanda RÄya again to hear about the transcendental truth from him.A brÄhmaṇa from Bengal composed a drama about the activities of ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu and went to JagannÄtha PurÄ« to show it to the associates of the Lord. When ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu’s secretary, SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara GosvÄmÄ«, heard the drama, he discerned a tinge of MÄyÄvÄda philosophy and pointed it out to the author. Although SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara condemned the entire drama, by reference to secondary meanings of the introductory verse he nevertheless satisfied the brÄhmaṇa. That brÄhmaṇa poet thus became greatly obliged to SvarÅ«pa DÄmodara GosvÄmÄ«, renounced his family connections and stayed at JagannÄtha PurÄ« with the associates of ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu.
