 samÄ«pe - near; nÄ«lÄdreḥ - JagannÄtha PurÄ«; caá¹­aka - named Caá¹­aka; giri-rÄjasya - the king of sand dunes; kalanÄt - on account of seeing; aye - oh; goṣṭhe - to the place for pasturing cows; govardhana-giri-patim - Govardhana, the king of hills; lokitum - to see; itaḥ - from here; vrajan - going; asmi - I am; iti - thus; uktvÄ - saying; pramadaḥ - maddened; iva - as if; dhÄvan - running; avadhá¹›taḥ - being followed; gaṇaiḥ - by the devotees; svaiḥ - own; gaurÄá¹…gaḥ - Lord ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu; há¹›daye - in the heart; udayan - awakening; mÄm - me; madayati - maddens.


Text

“Near JagannÄtha PurÄ« is a great sand dune known as Caá¹­aka-parvata. Seeing that hill, ÅšrÄ« Caitanya MahÄprabhu said, ‘Oh, I shall go to the land of Vraja to see Govardhana Hill!’ Then He began running madly toward it, and all the Vaiṣṇavas ran after Him. This scene awakens in my heart and maddens me.â€
