“You may go as far as VÄrÄṇasÄ« without encountering disturbances, but beyond VÄrÄṇasÄ« you should be very careful to travel on the path in the company of the ká¹£atriyas.

In those days the path from VÄrÄṇasÄ« to Vá¹›ndÄvana was infested with robbers, and therefore there were ká¹£atriyas to protect travelers.
